We were happy to attend a Nodate, or outdoor tea ceremony, on Coney Island Boardwalk yesterday. The Ceremony was hosted by the New York based Tea Master, Souheki Mori san and the Tea Artist Mai Ueda. We were also joined by NYC food, tea and travel writer Kathy YL Chan. We had 3 three teas prepared three ways: Traditional Koicha, or thick style matcha, Thin matcha prepared cold with melon infused water (!), and Kouridashi (iced) gyokuro. It was a gathering of friends in the true spirit of tea…We are most grateful to have been able to experience it.
