Creating Edo kiriko is a painstaking process that requires a great deal of skill and patience. First, the glass is blown into a mold to create its basic shape. Then, the artisan uses a cutting wheel to create the intricate designs. Finally, the glass is polished to give it a smooth, lustrous finish.
