This is a 100% Samidori matcha from Jintaro Yamamoto, a 6th generation tea farmer in Uji City. Yamamoto-san is one of Uji's youngest stars, and a steward of his craft. He operates the oldest tencha drying furnace in Japan, a protected cultural landmark. 

Yamamoto-san's tea is grown near the banks of the Uji River, which lends a persistent fog that protects the plants from seasonal frost that would otherwise damage the young tea shoots. Under these growing conditions, the tea plants are able to flourish, ultimately yielding a buttery and dynamic matcha.
